Map SkillsThis series of instructional and practice audio CDs and map worksheets is a great way to introduce students to various aspects of map reading. We use recorded and written exercises to take students from the beginnings of map directions and symbols through the complexities of topographic and statistical maps.
This package provides more practice and additional discussion of the skills learned in 65700. It also introduces elevation maps and comparisons of different kinds of maps of the same area. (4-6)
Provides additional instruction and practice for skills covered in 65710, and expands coverage of comparing different kinds of maps of the same area. This package also introduces concepts of projection maps of global areas. (6-8)

Graph SkillsAnother favorite from the TUNE IN CD library, this series helps students build a vocabulary of graph terminology and provides a sound basis for developing a thorough understanding of graphs. Using recorded instruction and worksheet practice, we begin with graph basics, then lead students through progressively more complex graph comprehension skills.
Provides more practice for skills covered in 66700, and examines graphs' ability to show the same information in different ways. This package also introduces simple combination graphs, and a brief exercise on tables. (4-6)
A follow-up to 66700 and 66701, this CD goes into greater detail about some of the more complex aspects of graphs. Lessons include trends, combination graphs, X-Y-Z graphs, band and high/low/close graphs, cumulative graphs, and more terms. (6-8)

Atlas SkillsThis series of instructional and practice audio CD and worksheets is a great way to turn your students into expert atlas users and geography researchers. It begins with the basics of using a reference and reading a map, then progresses with students through interpreting statistical information and comparing different images of the same geographic area. Lessons and exercises generally are applicable to any student atlas, but specific examples and page references are drawn from the Nystrom Desk Atlas. Students using other atlases may not be able to complete all exercises. Atlases are not included in TUNE IN atlas packages.
This CD and its worksheets provide additional instruction and practice in the skills introduced in 67700, then introduces basic skills for reading information shown in graphs, including graphs that use picture symbols. (4-6)
This practice package provides additional exercises to reinforce the skills acquired from 67710 for locating and interpreting atlas information. (6-8)

UIL Maps, Graphs & Charts Contest Tips and PracticeFor coaches and contestants preparing for UIL competition, TUNE IN has just the help you need. We developed this series of audio CDs using examples and worksheets that actually have been used in the Maps, Graphs & Charts Contest. CDs include UIL contest tips and recorded exercises, accompanied by additional written practice materials. You may duplicate the printed materials as often as necessary, but only for your individual classroom.
